What is edge painting?
Edge painting is the process of covering the edges of the of the finished invites and cards - even books and journals - with a colour or metallic pigment (including pantone color matching). For centuries, the edges of books were gilded with gold to show a classy richness. Today, the edges of books are hand painted in either matching or multiple different colours.
The process of edge painting service takes place after all text and graphics are printed, including any printing finishing has been applied to the paper and it has been trimmed to size. The cards are then neatly and evenly stacked on a padding press while finishing edge painting is applied.

- Offset-printed cards are less likely to chip or peel after edge painting, comparing to digital printed cards.
- For duplexed cards, seam colouring is an available option; colour sheets will be inserted in the middle of the duplexed cards, to give it a painted-edge look.
- Use a colour that will empower the overall look of your card or invite.
